You wish to preserve the voices of your Loved Ones forever, and we help you do just that in a fun and meaningful way.
You simply have to call us to get started. Life gets away from us, and it is so easy and fun to do these incredible recordings but it is also easy to put them off too long in life -leading to the recordings of their voices never being done. When it comes to these special voices, procrastination is never a good idea.
We generally come to your or their residence and record in the comfort of your familiar surroundings. We are fully mobile and deployable and can record virtually anywhere. These sessions are extraordinarily rewarding and bonding experiences for any individual, family or group and always enjoyable.
Preserving the quality and nuances of the your Loved Ones' voices insures that you will never lose the wonderful affects those voices have on triggering your deep memories and close feelings of connection with those loved ones. To preserve these voice qualities, it is simply necessary to preserve their voices in the highest quality possible and really does not matter exactly what they say. The characteristics and the details of their voices, when played back any time, stimulate countless ranges of memories; so, there is no need to capture special stories or unusual observations. Simply every day talking, about virtually anything, works wonders to capture the nuances of their and your voices for posterity.
THE APPROACH - CATALYST
That being said, many times, when we record these voices, wonderful stories or unusual ideas immerge and are preserved forever or the family has something specific in the way of memories or stories they wish to preserve.
Importantly, and more often than not, just suggesting speaking about a certain subject idea can help get someone started talking.
HOW TO GET STARTED
The following is just a list of ideas to show some of the possibilities for getting started preserving your Loved Ones' voices and for things many people wish for us to record to preserve as their legacy, as we preserve the qualities in the voices of those who they care about the most in life:
GIFTS CAN GET IT ALL STARTED
Many times, GIFTS are an easy, meaningful way to get started.
Giving the gift of doing these recordings or their results is always a caring way to help preserve and stimulate memories. The final recordings can be delivered in any digital media available from: CDs, to DVDs, to flash drives, to solid state players and virtually any media storage device.
No matter what the type of recording given, they are extraordinary in every way.
For instance, couples buy their Parents or Grandparents the service as a gift; so, they can make sure their voices are preserved. Similarly, parents of all ages have themselves recorded as gifts to their children. Grandparents might give the gift of recording to their daughter and her husband during their pregnancy and after the birth -and even as their children grow.
The following is a very detailed description of typical steps leading to recording with us:
They contemplate recording one time, or many times, or periodically -daily-monthly-yearly.
EIGHT TYPICAL STEPS FOR STARTING TO RECORD
Basically-just call us [(303) 933-2375], and we'll do the rest. However, it can go something like the following:
1) You review our web site and find yourself believing, like us, that retaining the voices and the thoughts of yourself or those around you could be one of the most important actions you could ever initiate and carry on. You see that capturing the voice now is very important.
2) You call and/or E-mail us to request that we discuss the matter.….OR you know this is important and that you should start right away.
3) We meet with you and prioritize the many things and people you have imagined recording and formulate a priority list and approach. We can also give you ideas and suggestions for subjects and approaches for yourself and/or various family members.
4) An appointment is made for your recording session at your desired location and time.
5) If appropriate we meet your subject and scope out the location.
6) We all have a great time making your recordings.
7) You receive CD’s, DVD’s or other desired and appropriate digital media copies of the session in the required numbers.
8) As simple as that we are finished, or we move on to your next idea/recording.
Our charge for these personal recordings is generally hourly and is ONLY charged for the actual time that recording is taking place and NOT for any other time such as set-up, planning and meetings. For recording time, one hour is the minimum charged.
Some recordings last over days and some for just one hour. On the average, a typical couple will record for about an hour, and a typical family of 4 will record for 1.5 hours. We charge from $200 to $500 per hour recorded, depending upon the complexity of the recording. For example, a family of ten, where we have a studio microphone on each member would be more time consuming and complex to record than a family of four.
Many times individuals or families wish to record many hours of continuing stories, documentations, life descriptions, or documenting children's growing voices. In these and similar cases, charging hourly would be too cost prohibitive for them to do the recordings as often as they would like to record or should record. In those cases, the scope of the work is assessed, an evaluation is made, and a budget is agreed upon that matches what they can afford with what they need recorded.
•Our Approach To Charging
Our attitude is that everyone should record what is appropriate to record, NOT simply what they can afford to record. After all, we are talking about preserving the voices of those you care about most. Some people can easily afford to record all they wish to record and some cannot. We of course could not offer the service, if it is always on a reduced fee or pro-bono basis (we do a lot of pro-bono work and especially for the Military); so, we must charge, but feel that whenever someone is enthusiastic about recording, we should work to find a way to make it happen.
Unusual requirements such as travel expenses to distant locations, extraordinary numbers of recording copies and client-requested special pre and post production work are also paid by the Client, as appropriate.
WHERE THE SUBJECTS & SUBJECT MATTER COME FROM
Most importantly, we preserve the detailed voices of those you care most about in life. Our minds use these detailed recordings to stimulate endless combinations of memories and feelings of wellbeing. To accomplish these triggers for the mind remembering, we only need a few sentences of a loved one talking to be recorded in extraordinary fidelity, and it really does not matter what they are saying.
Nevertheless, while we are capturing the nuances of a loved one's voice, many times interesting stories, observations, reminiscences and details immerge that are surprising and unplanned.
Sometimes, individuals and families intentionally wish to record some idea, story, experience or interaction of cross-generation members. We of course archive their voices at the same time we are recording these experiences, etc., and many times just having a subject to talk about gets the subject moving for recording. Below, are a few examples of recordings with specific subjects:
[These few examples illustrate a range from personal to professional. Note: recordings for subjects like these contemplate, and are intended for, emotion, interaction and delivery and not simply documentation of subject content alone.]
